Hi Everyone! I’m Carole — it’s so great to meet you!

I grew up in the small town of Devon, Alberta and now call South Edmonton home. I’m a mom of two, and by day an Account Manager supporting small businesses across Alberta. My background is in Computer Systems and while computers pay the bills, wine has always been where my heart truly is.

I launched Bottoms Up Wine Parties in 2018 as a way to bring more joy and creativity into my life. What started as a passion quickly became a way to share my love of wine with others — especially those who want to learn but aren’t sure where to start.

I hold two wine certifications through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), a globally recognized program for both enthusiasts and professionals. I completed my WSET Level 1 in 2018 and later challenged myself with the Level 3 certification in 2020, which I passed with Merit. That deeper knowledge completely transformed how I understand and enjoy wine — and I’m excited to bring that same experience to you.

When I host a wine tasting, my goal is always the same: make it fun, relaxed, and easy to learn. Wine is fascinating, but it should never feel intimidating. I want you to leave feeling confident, curious, and excited to explore new wines whenever you can.

Wine has a way of bringing people together, and I’d love to share that experience with you.
